For when you want to go deep inside of you and learn about yourself

Pouring an Ardbeg 10y, amazing whisky, playing my Blues playlist on Spotify, I can go deep inside myself to just listen to my thoughts and feelings that Gene Deer makes me think, feelings that Magic Slim brings from deep in my soul.

For you to discover yourself, you need time and space, so you can really listen to you. Of course, you can just sit and enjoy the amazing guitar solos these songs offer, or you can just learn more about you.

As a person who loves to spend time alone, I love to have moments that I can just think about some things that might be annoying me for some days. I can enjoy the place that I live for myself, laugh watching some comedy or even crying listening a great love song, but time with myself it’s important, and here is why.

When I have my time with myself, I can truly enjoy me, the most important person of my life. You know, I get when parents say that their kids are the most important ones, but hear me out. If you are sick, who is going to take care of your kid? If you feel depressed or just needs a moment to put your mind in place, who is going to take care of your kid?

To me, the person that needs more attention from me, is myself, because if I’m not well, I can’t work, I can’t take care of my place, I can’t take care of my relationships. But, being the person who puts everyone else in first place is the “correct” thing to do.

That’s why I pour whisky and drink, listening to blues, or any other song that pleases me. In that moment, I’m saying to myself, “enjoy, and rest”, I’m telling to the rest of the world (like anybody knows, right!?), I am important now, just leave me here, quiet, listening to my blues.
